High Desert figurines
Eighteen figures (whole and fragmented) recovered from two separate vats in the High Desert region. These images were captured by an experimental device used to photograph potentially fragile artefacts from inside their preservative vats. The visual motif of huddling or embracing figures has been found in communities across the Lye Planet: see for comparison the Moorland 'embracing' figurines or the Western Mines figurines.
